Time Flies .....
Time sure flies when you are having fun (which is every day in my job) ..... also in the summer! Vacation is over and it seems the summer is already winding down even though it feels like it only just started. Especially this year. If you read my blog regularly, you will see that we had snow (!) in May and then it rained practically the entire month of June. Oh well .... hopefully, we'll have a warm fall.
I combined two of my favorite pasttimes yesterday: antiquing and fabric shopping! If you live anywhere near north Iowa and you can go to Country Threads in Garner Iowa, go this week! Through Saturday, they are having their "big event". Great deals on rummage and also a discount in the shop! Here's some of my purchases below.
I found the cool basket there too! Here's a link to Country Threads' web site so you can get more information on this fabulous quilt shopping experience.
On the way to the shop (from the east) there is a great antique shop called The Old Barn. Even though it was pushing 98 degrees (whew!) we scoured this barn's outdoor yard and two floors. I was soaking wet when finished but found some great items. Here's one of them:
This is an interesting item that I will use as a plant stand outside. Do any of you know what this was made from?
Isn't that a cool ladder? I think once I clean it up, it may make a great display in the house. What would you do with this?
I'd love to hear about what you like to combine with your fabric shopping.
Snuggles is enjoying basking in the late afternoon summer sun. I may do the same in a few. Perhaps the hammock is calling my name?
